About Rotary Rocks The Barge
Do you know the feeling of the sun setting on Gull Lake Rotary Park and the musical notes of your favourite band permeating the warm summer air? Voices young and old sing along while talented musicians take the stage.
Now envision you and your loved ones gathering together once again to enjoy live entertainment and events from the comfort of new amphitheater seating built into the existing hillside. In celebration of the 85th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Gravenhurst, we are pleased to launch a new community initiative, Rotary Rocks The Barge. We have worked with and supported our town since 1937. We would like to honour this with a lasting legacy for all with a “wow” factor that serves our community and helps bolster tourism.
The upgraded and safer setting will be appreciated by all visitors to Gull Lake Rotary Park who would enjoy sitting on an otherwise awkward slope. The view of Gull Lake and its surrounding Canadian Shield granite is spectacular. We envision granite slabs buttressing the grade, alternating with level grass surfaces. Granite is everlasting and also warms in the sun. Visitors to events at the park can bring cushions or blankets and take in the experience safely and comfortably.
